Radiant Shipyard Ltd has come to an agreement with Mongla Port Authority.
At June 15, 2022, Radiant Shipyard Limited (RSL) has signed an agreement with Mongla Port Authority (MPA) under the project name “Establishment of Modern Waste and Spilled Oil Management at Mongla Port”. Managing Director of Radiant Shipyard Limited Commander A K M Alauddin (Retd.) BN and Chairman of Mongla Port Authority Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa have signed the Contract Agreement. Under this contract Radiant Shipyard Ltd will build 01(one) no. of Self-Propelled Barge, 01(one) no. of Service Tug Boat, 01(one) no. of Pontoon with Mooring Gear & 01(one) no. of Dumb Barge with spare parts, standard tools, related accessories and services for Mongla Port Authority. Keel laying program will be held at 22nd june, 2022.
THE SHIPPING SECRETARY VISITS RADIANT SHIPYARD
The Secretary, Ministry of Shipping, Mr. Muhammad Abdus Samad paid a visit to the Radiant Shipyard Saturday, 3 August 2019, along with Chairman, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), Commodore Mahbub-ul Islam, BN and Managing Director, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC), Commodore Yahya Syed, BN, meeting the Managing Director, Commander AKM Alauddin, BN(Retd), Directors & members of its workforce, and hearing about the capacity and capabilities of the yard in building ships and crafts, planned modernization of the yard. Radiant Shipyard Ltd, Bangladesh’s one of the leading shipbuilder, was established in the year 2012, located besides Shitalakkhaya River in Rupgonj, Narayangonj. Today, Radiant Shipyard stands over 20 acres of land, consisting of all sort of hi-tech and heavy tech machinery. It maintains Class certified standards for its projects, timely delivery as well as providing the best quality services to their clients. Radiant Shipyard builds vessels for a variety of needs and purposes for clients. However, its main specialty is the construction of LPG carrier. Radiant is the only shipyard in Bangladesh that has the practical experience of building LPG carrier. The Secretary visited all facilities of the shipyard and observed on ground activities of the yard in depth. He expressed his deep satisfaction seeing the workmanship of the under construction ships & crafts and also the state of the art facilities of the yard. The Secretary was impressed by the massive growth of the Shipyard against all the odds. He was also satisfied with the employment of more a thousand workers. He opined that RSL should keep its endeavor and help building the backward linkage industries of shipbuilding, so that more jobs can be generated and technological expertise can be improved to international standards.
